Finished in June 2002, with the idea in mind to promote Archery in Latin America and worldwide, this is a first class new archery range development.

It is located at 1500 meters above sea level and just 12 kilometers away from San José, the capital of Costa Rica

It offers a unique combination of different climates through the year and a fantastic location at the border of the National Park Braulio Carrillo.

Included in this facility is a outdoor 34 targets FITA range (136 archers shooting simultaneously) with covered shooting line and club house. It will host the celebration of all the future Costa Rica Cups.

Traditionally, all archers that participate in any tournament at the Juan J. Wedel Archery Center are asked to print their hands in fresh concrete. This concrete blocks are then used to mark the target locations on the FITA field.
In the club house there is a 30 m. indoor range, also it accommodates 15 comfortable beds and bathrooms which can be reserved on a first come first served basis.  In addition, there is a large area for 20 people in sleeping bags. There is also a camping tent available on request for 8 people.

For those archers who are looking for a new high altitude tropical jungle challenge, the landscape of this area is ideal for 3D and field shooting.  There are several kilometers of tough trials on this terrain of 40 acres.

  3. On request, Stewart Bowman, who is an experienced archer and coach, and also an equipment tuning specialist, will assemble, tune and customize any equipment prior to delivery at his shop in Phoenix, USA
